The Diving Museum, Gosport is the only museum in the UK that is solely dedicated to diving. It has a wide collection of diving equipment representing all fields of diving: military, commercial, recreational and experimental diving. The museum also houses the only surviving prototype of the world's first successful diving helmet, the Deane helmet. From diving stones to weight belts, from tadpole sets to Inspiration sets, and the Iron Man to the Newt Suit, the collection covers centuries of diving history.
There are lots of activities for children and it is also a pet-friendly museum (you are welcome to bring your dog - on a lead please). It is a small volunteer-run museum that likes to extend a warm welcome and a personal touch to all its visitors.
We are open on weekends and Bank holidays from 4th April 2020 to 1st November 2020.
