The Johnson family have been making Cider on Broome Farm, Herefordshire since they arrived there in the 1930's. In 2003, Mike Johnson, third-generation, founded the Ross-on-Wye Cider and Perry Company and it became the main focus of the farm. In 2017, his son Albert joined the business full-time. Now they, along with their valued staff, manage 50 acres of orchards filled with over 100 varieties of apples and 40 varieties of pears, and run the local village pub, the Yew Tree.
A repeated winner of Herefordshire CAMRA Cider Pub of the Year in 2016 and again in 2018, the Yew Tree has many features which make it stand out as a destination. With attached caravan site - family friendly tent camping available on the cider farm itself - weekly events, including live music, quiz nights, food, darts nights, a monthly Cider Club (held every last Saturday) and it's own annual Cider Competition (this year on July 13th), the Yew Tree is one of the best places you can imagine to experience true traditional Herefordshire Cider.
