In line with Government guidance on COVID-19 and the recommendation to avoid gatherings and crowded places, The Belford Museum has made the difficult decision to close to members of the public until further notice. Please keep an eye out on our website and social media pages where we will post updates as the situation progresses.
The Belford Museum, Northumberland covers the history of the village and the surrounding area. The front room covers the story of the old cornmills of Waren and Spindleston under the ownership of Greenwich Hospital. The rear of the museum has displays of the local doctor, clock maker, shop and the story of the Blue BELL Hotel and the local cattle mart. We also hold a lot of records for those people wishing to research their family history. There is details of all the soldiers from the area that were involved in WW1.
Belford Museum is just off the A1 road in the Market Place.
The museum is free to visitors, but as it is an entirely voluntary enterprise, contributions towards running coats are always welcome.
