High Beeches Woodland and Water Garden

High Beeches Woodland and Water Garden, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, England

At High Beeches Woodland and Water Garden, Haywards Heath, twenty seven acres of the High Weald have been sensitively planted with many exotic trees and shrubs to create a place of great beauty and tranquillity. Wander through the woodland glades filled with bluebells in the spring and surrounded by the colour and fragrance of the many azaleas. The paths wind through the native oaks which provide a back drop for the beautiful mature trees and shrubs which have been collected from around the world, among them magnificent rhododendrons, camellias and magnolias.

Summer is the time to enjoy the native flora, High Beeches has a glorious ancient native wildflower meadow which attracts many insects and butterflies and in August the blue woodland gentians can be seen in flower throughout the garden, this is the only place in the country where they have naturalised.

Finally the autumn brings a spectacular display of autumn colour, provided by the many nyssas, maples and liquid ambers.
