On Your Bike - Kayak Hire Millport is based right on the promenade with Kayaks ready to launch from the safe surroundings of the Newton Beach where you can be on the water in minutes. Fully certified life jackets are include in the hire and anyone can hire our Kayaks (terms and conditions apply which may be read before rental).
The Isle of Cumbrae offers superb opportunities to enjoy the fun of getting on the water safely and our range of FatYak Kayaks make it easy for all ages to enjoy this pleasure.
The FatYak kayak is easy to paddle, due to a combination of hull tracking channels and a built in skeg, so they are great for kids and anyone new to kayaking. Fatyak kayaks are the ultimate, family friendly kayak, in fact they are ideal for users of any age or ability. Fatyaks are sit on top kayaks, so if the kayak capsizes you climb straight back on. No fuss, no tears! Plus the Fatyaks molded seat area makes it comfy to sit in and gives you plenty of legroom.
The Kayaks are a fantastic way to get up close to the sea life and it makes it possible to visit the little islands (Eileans) in the bay. Various seabirds including spectacular diving gannets and terns plus porpoises and dolphins often visit the areas around the Eileans.
From the beach it only takes a few minutes to paddle out to see the seals which make their home for most of the year on the two Eileans in the bay. They are great to watch from the Kayaks but if they think you are getting too close to them, just watch as they dive into the water and pop up to watch you from the safety of the sea.
