The Allanwater Brewhouse has been pouring and brewing in Bridge of Allan since 1996. It all started when Douglas Ross sold his business, put his love of brewing into practice and founded the Allanwater Brewhouse. Since then, he has gone from strength to strength in perfecting recipes that not only keep the most expert of ale lovers happy, but also the drinkers who are new to the joys of craft beer.
From the more traditional brews such as 70/- and Pot Black Stout to the experimental and eclectic such as Thai Pot and Chilli, Douglas and his brewing team are always up for the challenge of cultivating new recipes whilst maintaining the excellence of the old ones. All the while they stand firmly by their ethos of only using the most natural as well as ethical ingredients and processes.
Warm, delicious aromas of hops and biscuity malt greet visitors as they enter, but the most remarked upon thing about the Brewhouse is the atmosphere and interior. Whether you take a seat by the wood burner or sit at one of the bar tables, there is much to admire, from the shelves of beer bottles from around the world to the hops that adorn the walls.
All staff pride themselves on being friendly and welcoming. They all share a passion for beer and are always on hand to offer tastings and to guide you through your Brewhouse experience.
They brew an extensive craft range, and always have a selection of eight beers and two ciders on draft. There is also a vegetarian and gluten free beer and cider for those customers that require dietary options.
The Brewhouse is a very sociable place and regularly host live music nights, beer festivals and quizzes. They also have an assortment of board games and books which are perfect for those looking to enjoy a lazy afternoon with a beer or two. On Friday and Saturday evenings the Allanwater Brewhouse offers mouth-watering stone baked rustic pizzas with vegan and veggie options.
There is always something happening at the Brewhouse so please keep an eye out for upcoming events on their events page or social media channels.
