Things to do - Cavan

Caven is located in the north of the island (but in the Republic of Ireland). Cavan is perhaps best known as the lakeland county and it is well known that there is at least a lake for every day of the year. The Cavan area has been inhabited for over 5,000 years and there is much evidence of these early Cavan people throughout the county. The West Cavan area is particularly rich in archaeological sites. Throughout County Cavan many people lived on artificial islands or Crannogs, many of which were used for hundreds of years. With museums, award winning restaurants and championship golf courses, County Cavan has something for everyone.
