The boat used for The Towy Ferry, Carmarthen Bay is Glansteffan, which is the only amphibious ferry boat in Wales. It takes up to 10 passengers in safety and comfort.
The ferry travels across the River Towy between the villages of Ferryside and Llansteffan in Carmarthenshire. It also provides hour-long excursions around the three rivers that flow into Carmarthen Bay.
Sailings take place when the tide allows. You can see details of the current timetable and ticket prices online (link above)
The boarding point for the ferry in both villages will vary according to the state of the tide and users should wait at muster points which will be marked by conspicuous flags and/or a gazebo with the Carmarthen Bay Ferries logo.
The boat has space for up to 4 bicycles which can be carried on the Ferry, subject to space.
Both villages are fantastic destinations for cyclists, being on the National Cycle Route that runs from London through to Fishguard.
