Created in 1874 and lovingly developed over five generations of the same family before being gifted to the National Trust in 1949, the 80-acre garden is renowned for its exceptional horticultural collections and breathtaking seasonal displays.

Visitors can explore a remarkable variety of landscapes, from the elegant Italianate Terraces and colourful Shrub Borders to the enchanting Dell, a dramatic wooded gorge featuring a picturesque waterfall and more than 40 UK Champion Trees. Recent additions, including the Winter Garden, Old Park Meadow, Yew Dell and The Far End riverside garden, provide year-round beauty and fresh discoveries with every visit.
