Cheddar Crazy Golf

Cheddar Crazy Golf, Cheddar Gorge, Somerset, England

Cheddar Crazy Golf in Cheddar Gorge was designed to be fun to play for people of all ages. Also, essentially, if you apply your skill to the course, you will be rewarded with a better score. That's probably the main reason why the same people return many times.

Another reason for the popularity of the course is its attractive setting. It was constructed 16 years ago using natural water worn stone from the Gorge on the site of a 19th century hotel garden. A water feature flows from a stone grotto that dates from that time. The course is landscaped with trees and shrubs that have developed over the years to add to the interest of play.

Cheddar Gorge in Somerset has been voted one of the top ten most visited natural attractions in Great Britain. The road winds down through the 400 foot deep gorge to where the River Yeo flows out from the bottom of the cliff where the famous limestone caves are. The Gorge is owned by The National Trust on one side & Longleat Estate on the other where the caves are waiting for their wonders to be visited. Because much of the Gorge is inaccessible it is a haven for wildlife. Peregrine Falcons have made a home there & Soay sheep & British Primitive Goat breeds roam free.

Cheddar Crazy Golf is about 400 metres from the Council car park at the bottom of the Gorge by The Riverside Inn. More parking areas are available as you drive up the Gorge. There is free parking out of season. When you get to Cheddar follow the signs to Cheddar Gorge & the Crazy Golf is opposite The Cheddar caves Information Centre & Cox's cave.
