Glenveagh is the second largest national park in Ireland. The park covers 170 square kilometres of hillside above Glenveagh Castle on the shore of Lough Veagh (Loch Ghleann Bheatha), 20 km from Gweedore in County Donegal. The network of mainly informal gardens displays a multitude of exotic and delicate plants from as far afield as Chile, Madeira and Tasmania, all sheltered by windbreaks of pine trees and ornamental rhododendrons.

The park is open throughout the Christmas period for walkers.
All Services including Visitor Centre, Castle & Tearooms will be closed from Monday 24th December to Wednesday 2nd Jan.
Entry to the Park is FREE, charges only apply to services.
We advise that you arrive early to avoid disappointment.

A Castle Tour can only be booked when you arrive at the Castle with limited spaces available during the winter months and at peak times.

The Park is open from dawn till dusk.
The Visitor Centre is open from 9am to 5pm.
The last bus to the castle and garden is at 3.45pm.
The last bus returns from castle is at 4.45pm.
Services are closed Christmas Week and will re-open on the 2nd January.
