Hatters Cottage, Hawkeshead Hill is an 18th century detached self-catering cottage in a secluded location surrounded by fields and gardens near the centre of the southern English Lake District.
The sitting room downstairs has two comfy sofas, an easy chair, TV, DVD player and Wifi. The kitchen/dining room has an antique oak furniture table and welsh dresser with gas cooker, electric kettle, microwave, dishwasher & washing machine. Used for hat-making in the 18th century, the interior has been fully renovated retaining the stone hearth and wooden beams with gas central heating and double glazing throughout.
Upstairs are two bedrooms, one with a 5-foot double bed and the other with twin beds, a shower room with wash-basin, WC and heated towel rail - all with views of gardens, fields and mountains.
Outside is a peaceful leafy south-facing private garden with stone patio, garden chairs and barbecue.
Hatters Cottage, Hawkshead Hill occupies a secluded setting surrounded by fields and gardens with mountain views. At the end of a private lane 150 metres from public roads, it is near a hilltop between Coniston and Windermere lakes. It has a peaceful private patio and garden beside a small stream, and is the only rented property on the place.
The picturesque medieval village of Hawkshead is 1 mile away, accessible by road or by a footpath across fields. You can walk and cycle from the cottage door on quiet footpaths, lanes and forest tracks - no need to take the car. Mountain walking, sailing and kayaking are within easy reach or you can just enjoy the peace of the garden.
