The Manse Cottage (Was the home of a Christian minister) is a lovely two bedroom late Georgian home in the Western Lake District Fells in the delightful village of Great Broughton. It has one double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom that accommodates 4 adults comfortably making it a perfect retreat. This is a very cosy cottage and is ideal for holidays and getaway breaks.

The home is beautifully furnished and it has its own dedicated parking space right in front. Walking and easy riverside rambles are possible from the front door. Cockermouth is nearby with all its attractions Your holiday from beginning to end is of the utmost importance to us and with this in mind a complete check is made before your arrival. The village of Great Broughton is located on the river Derwent that flows from Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite lakes. The cottage is ideally located equally close to both the seaside (The Solway firth) and is in the Northern Lake District and Western fells. The village has a post office/general store and has 3 pubs and a restaurant for bar meals at the Broughton Craggs Hotel.

The beautiful lakes of Bassenthwaite, Buttemere, Crummock water, Derwentwater and Wastwater are easily accessible. Swimming and beaches are possible in the lakes and the seaside town of Allonby ( 20 minutes). The mountains of Skiddaw, Grasmoor, Haystacks and Scafell in the western fells are wonderful days out for walkers and mountaineers. The town of Cockermouth is nearby and is the home of Wordsworth house, Jennings brewery, boutique shops and restaurants. Keswick is a short 20 minute drive and this has market days (Thursday and Saturday), lake boating, the Pencil museum, swimming pool, Theatre by the lake, cinema and many thriving restaurants and shops. The Whinlatter centre is close by and features café, bike hire, high ropes course, mountain bike trails and a live video camera in the Osprey nest (May to September).
