Connetts Farm Holiday Cottages

Connetts Farm, Plough Rd. Eastchurch, Sheerness, Kent, ME12 4JL

Connetts Farm is a 100 acre (40 Hectare) working farm situated in a coastal position with cliff top views over the Thames Estuary. Our family has owned the farm for 4 generations now, with the fifth growing quickly. There are chickens, horses and sheep on the farm with hay and cereal crops being grown. There is also a small area of woodland that we planted some years ago. Each year some areas of the farm are left to grow wild for the benefit of wildlife. Guests are welcome to walk around the farm and perhaps enjoy a picnic anywhere they find suitable.

For fishing enthusiasts, there is a small lake on the farm containing various species of coarse fish. This is, by arrangement, exclusively available to guests for fishing free of charge.

There are abundant rabbits, too many in fact! and many other wild animals and birds are to be seen.

Situated on the outskirts of the village of Eastchurch on the Isle of Sheppey. We are a coastal farm with walking along the clifftop and sea views. The Isle of Sheppey is a small island off the North Kent coast and is approximately 9 miles long by 5 miles wide. It is connected to the mainland by two bridges. The Sheppey Crossing was opened in July 2006 and is the island's first fixed link with the mainland. The old Kingsferry Bridge is a lifting bridge, it is still in use and the railway line also crosses this bridge.

For visits to London (50 miles), Canterbury (30 miles), Rochester (20 Miles) and Maidstone (20 miles), there are good road links to the motorway system with a new bridge linking us to the mainland. There is also a mainline railway from Sittingbourne (10 miles) to the centre of London with a connecting line from Sheerness. The nearest town is Sheerness (6 miles) where there is a selection of shops and good supermarkets, an indoor swimming pool and a sports complex. There is a beach at Sheerness, and a Naturist beach at Shellness (5 miles).
