If you are looking for a perfect, luxury UK holiday base, look no further. Home Farm comprises of two wonderful properties, set together in the attractive, chocolate box village of Scalby. The property offers a truly relaxed and indulgent self catering holiday experience.

The large house sleeps 10 and is unique in the area with its private heated indoor swimming pool. The comfortable cottage sleeps 2. Both properties can be rented separately for smaller groups, or together they make a wonderful base for extended family get together's and celebrations.

Originally an 18th Century farm house, Home Farm has been tastefully extended and modernised to provide luxurious family holiday accommodation.

Home Farm House is made up of two holiday rental properties, ideal for large family holidays and celebrations. The main property is a fully modernised 18th Century Farm House, which has a total of five bedrooms sleeping up to 10 adults. The adjoining smaller cottage, originally the old dairy shed, has one twin bedroom.
Home Farm is in the very centre of the quaint village of Scalby on the northern edge of Scarborough. The village boasts an excellent gastro pub, as well as a traditional welcoming pub, tearooms, a well stocked general store and newsagents and also a beauty salon, all within a few hundred yards of Home Farm.

A short drive takes you to the glorious Scarborough seashore. Scarborough boasts two wonderful golden beaches which are perfect for children. Hundreds of rock pools are revealed at low tide which provide endless fun for children. Look out for fossils too, this is the Dinosaur coasts after all.

Take a walk around the charming harbour and enjoy the fun fair and traditional seaside fun of the South Bay, then head up the cliff to the medieval castle, Scarborough?s famous landmark where reenactments of jousting knights are sometimes staged. New to Scarborough North bay is the state of the art Alpamare Water Park with water slides and rapids both indoor and outdoor.

Nightlife in Scarborough is plentiful with many good restaurants and lively nightclubs and bars. The remarkable Open Air Theatre was recently reopened by the Queen and has many big names and bands playing there throughout the year. It is a spectacular theatre experience with the stage set in the middle of a lake and tiered seating set on the cliff side. Definitely check who is playing there during your visit.

Scarborough is also home Britain?s most prolific playwright?s theatre, Alan Aykbourns theatre in the round is housed in the superbly adapted artdeco cinema building right in the centre of town. All his plays are premiered here before heading to the West End and Broadway. Further up the coast historic Whitby with it?s famous abbey and Dracula connections and the enchanting smugglers village of Robin Hoods Bay are half an hour drive away and well worth a visit.

Home Farm House borders on to the North York Moors National Park and for the more active and adventurous in your party there are plenty of excellent walking and cycling opportunities in nearby Dalby Forest, along with a spectacular Go Ape course.

Slightly further afield, the walled city of York is only 43 miles away and here you will find the National Railway museum and also the very interesting Viking Museum. Stop at the famous historic house, Castle Howard on the way. Made famous by the film Brideshead Revisited it is well worth a visit.
