An Acail, Stornoway originally an agricultural barn, was converted to a self-catering holiday cottage in 2014 and much of the work was completed by the owners Iain and Jeanne.
The master bedroom, on the ground floor, has a luxurious super-king size bed, en-suite bathroom with water fall power shower and spa bath, and TV. There is a twin bedroom upstairs and this has an en-suite shower room. An Acail is currently, only letting the cottage as a 2 bed (sleeps four). However, there is also an additional twin room, also with en-suite shower room, and they will consider letting to a party of six, by arrangement.
The living area is open plan and has seating and dining for 6. This area has a large bay window and French doors to access a patio with picnic table. There is also an outbuilding, which houses the laundry facilities and has room for storing bikes or drying wet suits. There is off street parking for up to 4 cars and you can park directly outside the cottage entrance.
An Acail is warm and cosy with central heating which can be fully controlled by you. There is also heat recovery unit with pollen filters for your comfort. All electricity, heating and WiFi is included in the price of your stay. All bed linen and towels (including some beach towels) are provided.
An Acail holiday cottage is ideally situated to explore the Isles of Lewis and Harris. Go fishing, walking, cycling, hiking, golfing, or just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. The Islands of Lewis and Harris boast many beautiful beaches, historical sites and stunning scenery.
The cottage is located on the outskirts of Stornoway and is about a 25 minute walk from the town centre and harbour, the nearest supermarket is about a 15 minute walk.
The Lews Castle grounds are about 15 minute walk from the cottage. The grounds are open to the public and have many paths, walkways and mountain bike trails. The Stornoway golf club is also in the grounds and is open to the public to book.
