The Old Hand and Diamond Inn, Shrewsbury, is a 17th century coaching inn that offers bed and breakfast style accommodation in 6 en-suite rooms.

They also offer a courtesy minibus to take guests to and from local venues such as Stanford Farm and Rowton Castle.

The bedrooms are decorated in a traditional country style with exposed beams and rustic features. All rooms are located on the first or second floors and are centrally heated with double glazing. They all have colour televisions, radio alarm clocks and tea/coffee making facilities.

There are a great selection of rooms with double beds and also family-sized rooms that can cater for up to five persons. Also available for the use of our guests are hairdryers, ironing boards, shoe cleaning kits and travel cots, all of which are free of charge.

Chef/Proprietor Ian Morris continues to build on this reputation with the help of local farmers who provide the Hand and Diamond with quality produce for the extensive a la carte, bar and carvery menus.

Ian and the farmers select only the finest quality meats including beef and Jacobs's lambs, eggs, cheese, potatoes and herbs to go on the menus which provide customers with a wide selection of good quality home-made dishes, cooked to order seven days/nights a week.

The ever popular Sunday carvery offers great value for 3 courses and show cases the local meat and vegetables, also available weekday and Saturday lunch times as a main course.
The Diamond also provides a great selection of award winning traditional ales from local breweries, and a varied selection of good wines to compliment the local food served.

The large outside continental style covered eating area at the Diamond makes an ideal choice for a relaxing lunch, dinner or meet for coffee outside of the busy town centre with beautiful views over the Shropshire/Powys borderlands. There is also a separate outside area provided for families in our beer garden/play area.
