Walcot Hall Estate, Lydbury North is the perfect venue for Glamping in Shropshire. Walcot Hall Estate has 10 Glamping Hidden Treasures bursting with lots of character. They are situated all around the Walcot Hall Grounds.
This Glamping site is in a wonderful location for exploring the outstanding natural beauty of South Shropshire, with Offas Dyke and Bury Ditches walks only a few miles away.
The Powis Arms pub is very friendly and serves restaurant and bar meals and the village shop is just a short walking distance away. There are also food shops and a petrol station in nearby Bishops Castle.
After the Gold Rush Yurt is the epitome of glamping, situates on the waters edge and sleeps up to 4. This spacious yurt boasts stunning views over its own pool which comes with a rowing boat! This beautiful structure is elevated up over the pool and has a decking area with ample seating.Just across the way are the facilities, plus table tennis and badminton which are all shared by all yurts.
Inside there is a wood burning stove, double bed, small double sofa bed, cooking area with a table and four chairs, a 2 ring gas stove cooker. There is a shared cooking area on the yurt field which provides you with everything you should need from crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, gas, washing up liquid, tea, coffee and sugar. We supply you with bed linen in your yurt but we ask you to bring your own towels.
Please note there is a steep drop from the decking platform to the pool so it is not suitable for small children or people with mobility issues.
Harvest Moon Yurt is the newest addition to the Walcot Estates glamping portfolio! This large yurt sleeps 2 - 4 with a double bed and double sofa bed.
Tucked up around the corner from the After the Gold Rush Yurt its in a peaceful, secluded location accessed via a wood chip path. This accommodation is currently being built, more images coming soon!
Guests can enjoy a BBQ on the large decking overlooking one of the arboretums fishing pools. Wonderful for relaxing on a quiet summer evening. There will be a woodburner inside the yurt to keep guests warm on the cooler nights.
Due to the location, close to the waters edge, this glamping accommodation is not suitable for very small children or people with limited accessibility.
Buffalo Springfield Yurt is located in the yurt field, on the edge of the arboretum with forest views on one side and rolling Shropshire Hills on the other. This beautiful structure is elevated on a grassy hill side next to a magnificent oak tree. Outside there is a decking area with ample seating and a BBQ. There are also shared facilities, a campfire, table tennis and badminton set which is for all of the yurts.
Crazy Horse Yurt is located in the yurt field, on the edge of the arboretum with lake views. This beautiful structure is elevated on a grassy hill side next to a magnificent oak tree. Outside there is a decking area with ample seating and a BBQ. There are also shared facilities, a campfire, table tennis and badminton set which is for all of the yurts.
Our newest addition to the glamping family is our Heart of Gold Yurt. Located in the yurt field alongside Crazy Horse and Buffalo Springfield Yurts this new yurt has its own private decking with wonderful views over the valley and village of Lydbury North.
With a comfy double bed, seating area and wood burning stove you have everything you need for a relaxing digital detox. You have the large arboretum on your doorstep which you are welcome to explore as well as table tennis and badminton on site too.
There is a camp fire set up which you can either cuddle up by with your nearest and dearest or make new friends with fellow guests over toasted marshmallows!
All of our yurts have their own BBQs on their decking but we are afraid there is no electric up this far on the estate but there are fairy lights and candles in abundance for when the night draws in. There are also hot showers and quirky flushing loos a short distance away as well as a small well equipped kitchen area with gas burner.
Green Glory, situated in the arboretum, with stunning views over Shropshires Longmynd this Showmans Caravan is an authentic caravan which has been renovated and redesigned to suit people looking for a holiday with a difference. You can relax & enjoy the view from this special spot or toast some marshmallows on the camp fire as the night draws in.
The Showmans has one double bedroom, living room with log burner and sofa and a separate kitchen which has a table and seating and two ring gas stove for cooking. Nearby there is the shared facilities hut. Bed linen and logs are provided however towels are not included.
Nearby are two secluded pools which truly are spectacular hidden gems waiting to be discovered. You can spend hours wondering around the Arboretum exploring.
Red Showman's Caravan, situated within the Walcot Hall estate in our beautiful Arboretum, there are two Showmans caravans. This caravan does not have electricity but it does have a wood burning stove for heating and cooking and is fully kitted out for a self catering glamping break.
Bed linen is provided for your stay, however towels are not included. A short walk away there is a compost toilet, and we have also recently built a brand new hot shower hut in the middle of the arboretum for the glamping Hidden Treasures to share.
Nearby are two secluded pools which are hidden gems waiting to be discovered. You can spend hours wandering around the Arboretum exploring. The Great Douglas Fir is a must, over 17ft wide and 100ft tall, it is a magnificent sight.

The Shepherds Hut is in a private spot in Walcots beautiful Arboretum and has just recently been redecorated. It has no electricity or running water.
The Hut is an original Roadmans Wagon with 1 cosy kingsize bed and 2 single bunks above which can fold out when required. There is a wood-burning stove for warmth and a twin ring gas hob for cooking. There is a lovely outside seating area near a campfire for those lazy summer evenings.
Bed linen is included at no extra cost, however you will need to bring your own towels. A short walk away there is the shared facilities hut.
Hidden in the Arboretum, amongst the splendid and ancient trees, the Gypsy Caravan has no electricity or running water and is only accessible on foot. It is ideal for the agile and adventurous wanting to get away from it all.
The Gypsy Caravan is a cheerful Romany home with one double bed and a childs cabin bed hidden underneath. The living space has bench seat and a gas hob. Outside there is a campfire and ample seating.
Bed linen is provided within the cost, however towels are not included. A short walk away there is a long drop toilet, and the shower facilities are just a 5 minute walk away.

Our most unique place to stay, the Fire Truck. It is secluded at the top of the Arboretum and only accessible on foot. This is glamping to the max!
A full size double bed surrounded by an eclectic mix of fabrics and furniture; old wine crates, lanterns and white wicker chairs make this a cosy romantic retreat. Tucked up at the top of the arboretum the Fire Truck is in a really glorious spot, during Spring this wagon is surrounded by a carpet of bluebells!
There is a long drop toilet and shower facilities near by. We provide the bed linen but please bring your own towels. There is a 1 ring gas stove for cooking on, all crockery and cooking equipment etc is provided.
If you are wanting to escape from everyday life, be surrounded by nature and silence then this is the place for you.

Please note our glamping accommodation is only suitable for the more agile and adventurous. Sturdy footwear and a torch are essential!

Walcot Hall Estate Glamping Site in Lydbury North, and just 4 miles away is the quaint and beautiful market town of Bishops Castle which is renowned for its brilliant local beers and homemade food. Pubs such as the Three Tuns and The Six Bells are famous for their own brewed ales and The Castle Hotel has a fantastic beer garden with breathtaking views.
Bishops Castle regularly holds events throughout the year which are great fun for all the family such as the annual Michaelmas Fair, Christmas Lights Festival, the traditional town Carnival, Party in the Park music event and the fantastic Real Ale Trail.
