Manor Farm Courtyard, Newton upon Rawcliffe, North Yorkshire, YO18 8QA

Dairy House Self Catering Cottage, Newton upon Rawcliffe is ecologically aware with solar panels and full central heating. Downstairs it has a double and a single bedroom, a shower room and toilet. The sitting room with its dramatic gallery, whose beams may have come from oaks in Newtondale or from ships in Whitby, has a wood burning stove, a unique 17th century stone fireplace, flat screen 32 Smart TV and DVD, Dab radio, rocking chair and comfortable suite. The modern, fully equipped kitchen/dining room has fridge/freezer, ceramic electric hob, double oven, dishwasher and microwave. The laundry room has washing machine, iron, tumble drier and full drying facilities. Free Wi-Fi and telephone for local calls.

Upstairs feels like a self contained flat with a spacious family bedroom with twin beds (if requested that can convert to a King-size) and single bed, bathroom with bath and mixer shower and the impressive gallery landing. With its thick walls and massive beams the cottage is cool in summer but cosy in winter and blends rustic charm with modern technology and comfort.

Outside is an open garden largely down to grass and a patio with garden furniture. A BBQ is available. There is a secure bike locker for cyclists.
Dairy House is situated in the village of Newton upon Rawcliffe high on the North Yorkshire Moors but with easy access to the market town of Pickering. Newton is a small unspoilt village, a pretty cluster of stone farms and cottages around the village green and duck pond. There is superb walking, riding and cycling into the National Park from the doorstep and the famous steam railway chuffs below through Newtondale.

Within a few minutes walk of the cottage is a children's playground and games field - and the village pub, the White Swan which serves real ales and home cooking.
