Lilac Terrace Cottage is a 2 Bed Cottage in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The cottage sleeps three very comfortably but can accommodate 4 guests.

The bedrooms are decorated in a country style with painted wooden floors, comfortable beds, cotton sheets and has the bonus of a full bathroom and an en-suite shower.

The living room is equipped with a stunning log burning fire and we provide a starter bag of logs and kindling. Further supplies can be purchased at Lealholm post office or Castleton Co-Op.

We offer weekly accommodation running Friday to Friday and also short breaks in the winter months. Please enquire for availability.

The Lilac Terrace Cottage is ideally located a ten minute stroll from Danby train station from where you can enjoy a picturesque ride to Whitby seaside. Even better is the local pub, The Fox and Hounds, who serve real ales and good food, is on your doorstep.

A short walk into the village takes you to Danby Bakery for fresh bread, cakes and a lovely tea shop. You are also surrounded by numerous, beautiful moorland walks.

The village of Danby nestles in the beautiful and peaceful Esk Valley in the heart of The North York Moors. The village has two pubs (both serving food), a bakery, a tea room and a health food shop.

There is also an excellent National Park Visitor Centre at Danby Lodge - an historic building set in 13 acres of riverside pasture, with facilities which include exhibitions, nature trails and tea rooms.

Danby also boasts the ruins of a 14th century castle and the only remaining working water mill on the River Esk. The scenic Esk Valley Railway line runs through the village on its way to Whitby. The quaint moorland villages of Hutton-le-Hole and Lastingham, the market town of Pickering, the city of York and the Yorkshire Coast villages of Staithes, Saltburn and Robin Hood's Bay are all within easy touring distance.
