Seafront Cottage - luxurious fisherman style cottage directly on the Moray Firth.
Seafront Cottage is a luxurious, fully equipped fisherman style cottage set directly on the seafront in the conservation area of Seatown, Gardenstown. Once home to some of the earliest fishermen in the area dating back to the 1700s, this beautifully finished retreat now sleeps 4 in comfort, with a unique large picture window looking straight out to sea, protected by traditional sliding wooden shutters in stormy weather.
Inside, you can sit on the sofa and watch the waves roll in, with a wood burning stove for cosy evenings and underfloor heating throughout. On clear days you may be lucky enough to spot Moray Firth dolphins from the comfort of the living area, and in winter there is even the chance of seeing the Northern Lights dancing over the water.
The cottage is fully equipped for modern coastal escapes, with full Wi-Fi, in-built sound system, integrated roof speakers, wall mounted smart TV with Netflix, fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine, and a large fully tiled bathroom. A hand built spiral staircase, king size double bed, quality bedding and toiletries complete the sense of relaxed luxury.
Open the shutters and the 2 metre square window becomes the focal point of the house, framing ever-changing views over the Moray Firth. At high tide the water is directly below the cottage, while at low tide the bay reveals sand and sandstone rocks with rock pools teeming with seabirds and marine life.

Seafront Cottage is set in Gardenstown, the largest of three traditional fishing villages along this stretch of the Banffshire coast, with the smaller neighbours of Pennan and Crovie just along the shore. The village sits in an area of natural beauty, with steep cliffs, protected bays and big skies that are perfect for wildlife watching, sea air and coastal walks.
The nearest towns are Macduff and Banff, around eight miles away, offering shops, cafes and further visitor facilities. Heading the other way along the coast you reach Fraserburgh, still one of the main fishing ports of the UK, with Peterhead further down the shoreline. From this base you can explore historic harbours, quiet beaches, scenic drives and the broader Moray Firth coastline, returning each evening to your front row seat by the sea.
