Gannet Cottage - traditional fisherman's cottage directly on the Moray Firth.
Gannet Cottage is a superb 19th century fisherman's cottage set in the conservation Seatown area of Gardenstown, positioned directly on the Moray Firth seafront. From inside the cottage it is often possible to spot the local school of dolphins, and at high tide the water sits just a few metres below the gable end.
Inside, the property has been sensitively updated while retaining the character and features of generations past. The lounge now features three windows with views across the Moray Firth, a cosy wood burning stove, fibre optic Wi-Fi, flat screen TV with Netflix and a Bose sound deck for Bluetooth music.
The cottage sleeps 4 across two bedrooms upstairs - one double and one twin - with a bathroom on the ground floor (bath with shower over). There is also a large dining kitchen for relaxed meals together. Pets allowed on request. At high tide the sea is directly beneath the cottage, while at low tide the bay reveals sand and sandstone rocks with rock pools full of seabirds and marine life.
Originally the gable facing the sea had no windows to keep out storms, but today the added windows create a stunning sitting area with one view to the horizon and one across to the harbour entrance - the perfect place to enjoy Gardenstown's spectacular sunsets in summer. Electricity is payable by meter reading on a trust basis; heating is via electric panel heaters, underfloor heating in places and the wood burning stove, with an initial supply of logs provided.

Gannet Cottage sits in the heart of Seatown, the oldest part of Gardenstown and one of the most atmospheric fishing villages on the Banffshire coast. With houses right at the water's edge, this area has a unique heritage and stunning natural scenery.
Gardenstown is the largest of three fishing villages along this stretch of coastline, with Pennan and Crovie nearby. Macduff and Banff are around eight miles away for shops and facilities, while Fraserburgh and Peterhead continue east as two of Scotland's major working fishing ports.
The cottage is perfectly placed for dolphin spotting, coastal walks, rock pooling, birdwatching and exploring the dramatic Moray Firth coastline - returning home each evening to your cosy cottage right above the waves.
