Millport Breaks offering three self catering properties on the isle of Cumbrae.
Rose Cottage: The latest addition to Millport Breaks apartments, newly available. A traditional 18th century lower cottage in a garden setting, this little cottage is one of Millport?s hidden gems. Stripped back to a shell and fully refurbished over the winter of 2014, the apartment has all the conveniences you would expect to find. The cottage is situated in the middle of George St, nestled behind another building.
7 Crawford Street: located just a few minutes walk from the old harbour, in a quiet side street, close to the sea. The golf course is about ten minutes walk as is the play park beside a secluded, sheltered beach. In the opposite direction, the many shops, cafes and restaurants of the town are easily reached.
44 George St: A cosy, two roomed ground floor flat, fully upgraded by Millport Breaks in 2011. The flat is situated in a quiet leafy side street, just moments walk from the wide sandy sweep of Kames Bay, and with pretty views from the sunny living room.
Millport is the only town on the tiny Isle of Cumbrae, off the West Coast of Scotland easily reached by a ten minute ferry crossing from Largs, North Ayrshire. In Victorian times it was the favourite destination for Glasgow families, looking to escape to the seaside, and the tiny fishing village expanded into the charming seaside resort it is today. Many families look to recreate that simple, nostalgic type of holiday with their own children or grandchildren, but the island is also a haven for fishing, golf, (it has its own golf course) bird watchers, cyclists and walkers.
In the summer, the town is busy and vibrant, and there are many festivals such as Sail and Oar weekend, Classic Car Rally, and the famous Country and Western weekend, but in autumn and spring the town is quiet and peaceful, ideal for a short break and relaxing getaway.
