Set on an organic farm, Cockle Kitty Cottage is a brilliant base for discovering Kelso and the wider Scottish Borders in every season. Nature is part of daily life here, with hares on the land, small birds around the sunflowers, barn owls floating by on the hunt and colourful butterflies and wildflowers right on your doorstep.

Walks begin on the farm itself, with routes along the meandering Eden Water, over a wooden bridge and onwards to the River Tweed if you fancy a longer stretch, or a gentler loop back along a tree lined avenue. There is also an all weather tennis surface nearby for guests who want to add a little activity to their stay, balanced by plenty of time to slow down and soak up the views.

In August and September, a colourful flower patch on the farm adds an extra seasonal highlight, with grassy paths and Hume Castle as a memorable backdrop, especially as the sun sets. Whether you visit for quiet relaxation, countryside exploring or fresh air adventures, this Kelso location offers the best of Borders scenery and calm.
