Fota Wildlife Park

Fota Wildlife Park, Fota, Cork, Southern Ireland

Fota Wildlife Park - Enjoy an unforgettable wildlife adventure in one of Ireland’s leading conservation parks.

Located on beautiful Fota Island near Carrigtwohill in County Cork, Fota Wildlife Park is one of Ireland’s most popular wildlife attractions. Covering 100 acres, this independently funded, not-for-profit conservation charity is home to almost 30 mammal species and around 50 species of birds, welcoming hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.

Unlike many traditional zoos, Fota Wildlife Park allows several species to roam freely among visitors, creating a unique and immersive experience. Ring-tailed lemurs and wallabies can often be seen wandering through the park, while larger animals such as giraffes, bison and zebras live in spacious paddocks designed to replicate their natural habitats with minimal visual barriers.

The park is also home to many fascinating and endangered species, including red pandas, siamang gibbons, tapirs, cheetahs, Asian lions and Sumatran tigers. Through its conservation programmes and breeding initiatives, Fota Wildlife Park plays an important role in protecting threatened wildlife from around the world.

Families can enjoy a full day exploring the beautifully landscaped grounds, with cafés, picnic areas, children's play facilities and seasonal train rides available throughout the park. The park is fully wheelchair accessible, with accessible toilets located at several points throughout the site. Manual wheelchairs are available free of charge from Reception, subject to availability, and the seasonal tour train can accommodate wheelchairs and folded buggies.

Opening times and admission prices vary throughout the year, so visitors are encouraged to check the official website before travelling.

Plan your visit to Fota Wildlife Park and enjoy one of Ireland’s finest family attractions while supporting wildlife conservation.
