Woodburn lodges are situated in a non commercial development south of Dumfries between lochanhead and the magnificent Solway coast.

Just off the A711 Dumfries to Dalbeattie Road, located 1 mile from the village of Beeswing and 5 miles from Dumfries town centre and 6 miles to Dalbeattie on the Solway Coastal Tourist Driving Route.

Woodburn Lodges are in a super location for exploring this stunning corner of Dumfries and Galloway. Cyclists are particularly well catered for as it
borders Mabie Forest and the 7Stanes so whatever your ability, from serious mountain bikers to family fun rides they are on your doorstep, from Woodburn Lodges you can see the Red and Purple rides of the 7Stanes which have runs to suit all abilities.

Enjoy loch Arthur Farm shop just a mile away in Beeswing where you can enjoy lunch and perhaps buy their award winning cheeses.

The Royal Burgh town of Dumfries is a short drive away where there are many shops, pubs and restaurants, or the smaller market town of Castle Douglas, known as the Food Town where there are an excellent selection of foodie shops as well as some delightful little niche shops.

A visit to this glorious area is not complete without a trip to the Galloway Forest Park, the UK's largest, where there are hidden waterfalls, mountains, wildlife and lochs and on a clear night it's one of the best places in the western world to view the stars.

Kippford is 11 miles away with a fantastic circular walk along the coast then a stop at the Anchor hotel for a wee Dram (or coffee). Shops, pubs and restaurants 5 miles away in Dumfries.
