Scotland - Things to do

Scotland is one of the loveliest countries in the world. The quality of light which illuminates its ancient, ice-gouged mountains, turquoise sea-lochs and white sandy beaches which cannot be matched further south. While Edinburgh lives up to its reputation as the most beautiful city in Britain, the surrounding coast and countryside has charming towns and villages to explore

While New Year's Eve is celebrated around the world, the Scots have a long rich heritage associated with this event - and their own name for it, Hogmanay. Edinburgh and Glasgow are the main focus for partying, playing host to elaborate open-air concerts and massive street parties. Elsewhere in Scotland, particularly in more remote parts, customary first footing and Scottish dances, or ceilidhs take place.

Why not try a visit to a Whisky Distillery and find out the process for making 'a wee dram'. Maybe climb Ben Nevis, visit historical castles (such as the iconic Eilean Donan, recognized all around the world). Pay a visit to Loch Ness in search of the elusive 'Loch Ness Monster'.
